180 degrees south

You MUST see this documentary. It's honestly one of the most inspiring films I've ever seen. 180 Degrees South chronicles the adventures of Jeff Johnson and his friends as they attempt to summit the awe inspiring Corcovado peak. If this movie doesn't make you want to leap off your couch and book the next flight to Patagonia, then you might want to check your pulse.

*You can watch the trailer and learn more about Conservacion Patagonica here. Trust me, you'll be glad you did.

animal, vegetable, miracle

I absolutely adored this book. The story follows the life of the Kingsolver family as they attempt to spend a year growing their own food or procuring it locally from neighboring farms. Thanks to Barbara Kingsolver, I'm daydreaming of sweet summer squash and raising my own Bourbon Red turkeys. Definitely a must read if you're interested in the local food movement. Below, is one of my favorite quotes from the book...

"Here I stand in the consecrated presence of all they have wished for me, and cooked for me. Right here, canning tomatoes with Camille, making egg bread with Lily. Come back, I find myself begging every memory. Come back for a potholder hug."

with this ring

we ordered kiwi's wedding band on etsy this weekend! he picked it out himself. it's made from coyol seed with recycled sterling silver. it really is beautiful.

*as it turns out kiwi has a little streak of green in him... who knew?

this little light of mine

so, i may have purchased about a million (okay, 60) whirly hanging candleholders from my new favorite store cb2... but i think they will look amazing hanging from the trees at the wedding. plus, we can reuse them (see post below) after the big day and hang them chandelier style in the house.

sweet dreams

west elm

anthropologie

i have been flirting with the idea of a new duvet set... i've had my old one forever and white feels so right. fresh and clean, everything spring is about. above are the top three contenders. the west elm set gets bonus points for being organic, i love that. don't you just want to jump right in?
