Our Christmas, Instagram Style

Our Christmas this year was quiet and lovely. Kiwi and I cooked up a delicious Christmas brunch {we made this and this} and we celebrated with our families. Decorations were minimal, but I loved the pops of color from bright washi tape accents and the sweet simplicity of this garland from Anthropologie. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday, enjoy the rest of 2011 and ring in the New Year in style!

The most delicious brussels sprouts recipe EVER.

Yes, that's right... I used the words delicious and brussels sprouts in the same sentence. I know what you're thinking... Delicious? Brussels sprouts? I'm here to tell you it's true folks. I cooked up a batch of these lovelies from 101 Cookbooks for Thanksgiving this year and there was not a single morsel left in the house. My 14-year-old sister even went back for seconds! I think the grated Parmesan makes them extra yummy. The recipe was simple and easy to follow, so if you're looking for a way to add some tasty greenery to your next meal this is it.

*I added some toasted almonds for a little extra crunch. I highly recommend it.

Sedona: Anniversary Getaway

I can't believe Kiwi and I have been married for 2 years! To celebrate our second anniversary, we headed up to the red rocks of Sedona for some eating, drinking, hiking and relaxing. It's cliche but true, time flies when you're having fun. Happy two years my love!

*Kiwi would like me to clarify that by hiking, I mean stopping every five seconds to take photos while he patiently waits for me. Folks, I've got myself a keeper.

freshly picked

This little beauty arrived in the mail today from Freshly Picked. It totally spruces up my workspace. The matching pencil cup is definitely going on my Christmas list. I am such a sucker for pretty office supplies.

painted pumpkins

I know Halloween is over but I couldn't resist posting a few photos of my little project. Inspired by these lovely pumpkins I decided to break out the spray paint and masking tape to try my hand at pumpkin painting. It was remarkably easy and probably took me a total of 10 minutes. I can't wait to try a new pattern next year!

*I love that my little chevron pumpkin matches our new rug perfectly!

New Zealand: In Photos...

Words cannot express what a phenomenal time we had in New was truly the trip of a lifetime. Instead of attempting to describe it, I thought I would let the photos do the talking. Enjoy!

*In other news, New Zealand WON the Rugby World Cup! The entire country is in a state of euphoria. What a perfect end to our journey!

more from sydney

Just looking at these photos puts a smile on my face. We only spent a few days in Australia but we certainly made the most of it. Sydney was all about sun, sand and seafood. We explored the Blue Mountains and Bondi Beach, got up close and personal with a few kangaroos and made a special trip to the Sydney Fish Market for an al fresco lunch. We were sad to leave Sydney but we couldn't wait to get to New Zealand for the Rugby World Cup!

*David Lebovitz just did a great write up of some fantastic spots to eat in Sydney. Just reading it makes me hungry! Check it out here.

sneak peek: sydney, australia

Hi, remember me? I apologize for the lack of posting... I've been a very bad blogger! We had an amazing time on our trip but I seem to have returned with tonsillitis/glandular fever/the worst sore throat of my life. I am on the mend but I just wanted to stop in and share a few photos from our short stop in Sydney! I will be back later this week with more from Australia and lots of photos from New Zealand!

*I will also be catching up on all of your blogs. I've missed you guys!

New Zealand Here We Come!

Well friends, Kiwi and I are off on another adventure! We are heading to New Zealand to visit Kiwi's family and to check out a few of the Rugby World Cup games. Also on the agenda: bungee jumping, black water rafting and zorbing! I'll try and post a few photos and updates while we are away. See you guys in a few weeks!
