summer hair

I am in a major hairdo rut... My hair has gotten incredibly long and I don't really know what to do with it anymore. When I actually get around to styling it I do long, loose waves and it looks great. But let's be real here, it's summer and I'm not really in the mood to mess with my hair. Every so often I dream about chopping it all off but the look of panic on Kiwi's face gives me pause. So I need some tips! What's your secret to easy, chic, summer hair?

  1. Ponytails!

Ha... my husband loves short and long hair. So... I never know what to do with it.

  2. scrunch with mousse and blow-dry with a diffuser! it's nearly the same result as when I blow dry straight, then wind around a curling iron to get waves, except it's much messier (which is fine for summer, right?) and takes about 5% of the time

  3. Braids!! I spent the entire month of January posting a different hairstyle each day. Check it out on my blog and see if you can find one you like. :)

  4. Ha ponytails, messy buns...sometimes, just letting my hair dry naturally, and if I don't like how the curls set, I'll get out the curling iron and redoing some here and there!

  5. I've been trying to perfect the maiden braids. It's not an easy task, but I'll probably have it mastered by the end of summer

  6. Love these looks-so easy and free! While I think everyone has the urge to chop in the summer, I couldn't give up my ponytail of laziness!

  10. Tie it up on the top of your head! Getting it out of your face and off your neck/back will make the difference when it's soooooooo hot outside

  11. I've been living in loose low buns lately, anything to get it off my neck in the summer. This was just the inspiration I needed!

  12. I'm trying to grow my hair long right now... but it's just a teensy bit below my shoulders. My go-to for summer hair - a bun! The thought of using a blowdryer or straightener in Houston's heat makes me sweat! You posted so much great hair inspiration, though... I'd love to try a cute braid out this weekend!

  13. My hair is the longest it's been in years, but I find myself not styling it much. Mostly because I stopped blow drying/straightening it over a year ago because the end were looking SO bad. So I decided to go natural for a while. But I'm a huge fan of low buns and side braids. Oh and ponytails of course!

  18. I love the bun idea atop that gal's head! However, my hair is far too short for such a faboosh style! I must admit, though, I love my Victoria Beckham - esque cut. It's easy to maintain and gives off the professional/sultry vibe (if there is such a thing!). :)

  20. I scrunch in some surf spray and let it dry naturally. The result is beach waves with minimal effort put in!
